Eco-printed Lanterns

Eco & Indigo Fiber Arts uses leaves and flowers to create eco-printed lanterns and other one-of-a-kind creations. The process of Eco-printing and Eco-Dyeing is an artistic alchemy involving leaves, flowers, plant material, rainwater, iron and fire. It is a unique form of Eco-Art.

In our process, Mother Nature gifts us with her leaves, flowers, bark, lichen, and edibles from the garden. We lay out the plant materials on the paper, roll it up, tie it up and steam or simmer it. When we unroll our bundles it's like a treasure hunt every time! Mystery, surprise and beauty greet us as the essences of the leaves and flowers reveal themselves to us.

Each lantern has a handmade wooden base, either cedar or mesquite. As the light shines through the Eco-printed paper, the magic essence of the leaves is illuminated.
